Elizabeth (Betty) Goertzen, 85, of Mitchell, MB passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Bethesda Hospital with family at her side. She is survived by 11 children, 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as her sister Tina, two brothers and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dave Nickel, 59, of Steinbach, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Portage, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife Tina, father Jake Nickel, one daughter, one son, and their families. He is also survived by two sisters, one brother, and their families.
He was predeceased by his mother Tina in 1999.

Peter Froese, 99, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2010, at his residence in Grunthal, MB, with his children by his side.
Dad leaves to mourn three daughters: Betty (Leonard Friesen), Nettie (John Wiens), Helen (Benny Friesen), son Ron (Yolanda) daughter-in-law Jessie, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grand-children, and one sister-in-law Dorothy Schellenberg.
Dad was predeceased by his wife, Helen, son Pete, grandson Ron, great-grandson Ethan, one brother, and three sisters.

GORDON PLOVIE
Gordon Emerie Plovie, the son of Elizabeth (Moffatt) and Emerie Plovie, was born October 28, 1922 in Warroad, Minnesota. Gordon attended school in Middlebro, Manitoba.
Gordon will be missed by his children: Larry (Kathy) Plovie, Nancy (Richard) Reinhart and Gary (Marilyn) Plovie; his grandchildren: Steven (Jennifer) Plovie, Barbara (Troy) Sundvall, Raymond (Heather) Reinhart, Michael (Ashley) Reinhart; and his greatgrandchildren who were all special to him. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, John (Carole) Hreno, Walter (Diane) Hreno, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John, sisters Eleanor and Marion.
Gordon passed away July 24, 2010 at the age of 87.

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Gerhard (George) Hoeppner Enns, on July 21, 2010 at the Poseidon Care Centre in Winnipeg. He will be deeply missed by his children Kenneth (Lesley), Stanley (Maureen Benoit) and Eleanor MacDougall (Grant), as well as his grandchildren David, Gregory , Melanie (Keith McKague), Amelia, William and Charlotte. He is survived by his brothers Jake(Ruth), Neil(Leona) and Waldo Enns, and sisters Connie(Vic Hamm), Anne( Peter Berg), Helen Bergman, Mary(Bill Giesbrecht), Hildie(Peter Braun), and Edith(Vern Fast).He is also survived by the extended A. T. Loewen family. George was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Ratzlaff Enns, neé Loewen, and by his infant daughter, Evelyn Georgina. He was also predeceased by his parents, Agathe Hoeppner Enns and Gerhard Gerhard Enns; his sister, Judith; his brothers, Dietrich and Peter; and his brother-in-law, Henry Bergman.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the Kildonan Community Church, 2373 Main Street, Winnipeg, Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at 7:30 p.m.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barry on July 20, 2010, at the age of 77 years, at his home in Niverville.
Barry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 57 years, Helen; and his daughters, Debby (Brian) Strong, June (Don) Elliot, and Dawna (Doug) Knutt. He was an inspiration to his grandchildren, Morgan (Leah) and Brian (Cate) Strong; Holly (Greg) Storey, William (Andrea) Elliot; Scott, Barry (Autumn) and Kyle Knutt; Sean (Nickey) and Justin Edwards, Shannon (Steve) Ginter, and their mother Kim; and also his great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Francis Askin, brother Chuck (Nona) Edwards, and brother-in-law Sandy (Carmen) Grant.
Mom and girls would like to thank all the staff and residents of the Niverville Credit Union Manor for their care and kindness. The ALS Society of Manitoba and the ALS Team has been there for dad and family every step of the way, and we thank you.
The service to celebrate Barry's life will be held Tuesday July 27 at the Morris United Church. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Barry's honour to the ALS Society of Manitoba.

RUSSELL MARTENS
Peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, with his family at his side, Russ went to his heavenly home due to complications following heart surgery.
He will be very sadly missed and forever loved by the love of his life for 18 years, Melissa, and his three children, Tie, Jarred and Taylor. Russ is also survived by his parents, Elmer & Frieda Martens, brothers Randy (Marilyn), Daryl (Carol), sisters Shirley (Brian), Shannon (Randy) and in-laws Garry & Allyson Antonyshyn and sister and brother-in-law Jenn & Dwayne Penner as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church 345 Loewen Blvd., Steinbach .

On Saturday, July 17, 2010, Susie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Susie will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were loved by her.
Susie is survived by her sons Ray (Flora) and Ron (Elisabeth) and daughter Susan (Ben), her grandchildren Nancy-Ann, Heidi, Nathan, Billy, Cammie, Steven, Jessica and David. On Friday, July 9, 2010 Joe passed away peacefully at the age of 88 after a brief illness.
Joe was predeceased by his brothers Tom, George and Bruce and sisters Ila and Mae Grottenberg. He leaves to cherish his loving wife Regina of 64 plus years; his daughter Wanda (Duane) Boutang; three grandchildren Marisa (Keir) Savage, Dayna (Grant) Jongejan and Darren (Cheryl) Boutang; one great grandchild Rory Savage; his sister Winona Thomson and brother Lorne (Anne) Emes; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peacefully on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach our Dad's journey through earthly life ended. We rejoice knowing God has embraced him with open arms in heavenly rest.
He will be greatly missed by his girlfriend and wife of 45 years, Irene. He'll also be forever loved by his children: Jeanette (Ron) and daughters, Ashlyn and Daenica; Gerald (Cindy) and children, Samuel, Spencer, and Sophia; Kendale (Teona) and daughters, Hailey, Kaia, and Anya; Anita (John) and daughter, Vienna.
He'll always remain the big brother to Leonard (Rhea) and Margaret and Charlotte.

ELSIE KOLODZINSKI
Passed away at Vita Hospital on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the age of 89 years. She owned and operated the Tolstoi Hotel for 68 years.
Left to mourn her passing are her daughters Olivia Davies, Adelle (Ian) Mayberry, Patricia (Dennis) Beyak and Debbie (Frank) Laxdal all of Winnipeg; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Kolozinski in 1983.

Shane William Christofferson, aged 22 years, of Middlebro, Manitoba, Canada passed away on July 4, 2010 at Mooselake Provincial Park as result of a swimming accident.
Shane was born in Roseau, MN. U.S.A. on March 29, 1988, and went to school in Sprague, Manitoba, Canada.
Shane is survived by his father Jim, mother Patty, sister Cathy, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Shane’s funeral service will be held at the Middlebro Community Hall on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. with interment at the Middlebro Cemetery following the service.

It is with regret we announce the death of Sarah Matilda Gilchrist age 91,at Boundry Trails Hospital. She is survived by her sister Ruby and predeceased by her son Kenneth and seven brothers and sisters. Born in 1918 Sarah lived all her life in the Ridgeville area, farming and involved in community life. A short family service will be held at Ridgeville Cemetery 1p.m. Friday July 9.
